EPLAN Platform 2022 Highlights
Graphic user interface, device management, Insert Center
The EPLAN Platform 2022 heralds our new generation of software. Here you can get an overview of the technical highlights and features for a completely new user experience: from the new graphical user interface with Backstage View to device management for object-oriented working.
EPLAN Platform 2022: New Graphical User Interface, Long-Term Benefits
During the development of the EPLAN Platform 2022, great importance was attached to a new user experience: The GUI is now visually and functionally oriented towards apps for mobile devices and internationally established desktop applications. Important and frequently used features are visible at first glance. In addition, the interface for 2D and 3D design has been modernised from the ground up.
New Ribbons: Important Tools Always at Hand
EPLAN is switching the user interface to the well-known ribbons technology. Ribbons merge menus and toolbars into a single area and offer new as well as experienced users quick and efficient access to the software functionality.
Backstage View for Full Vision
The new backstage view allows a user to manipulate all the aspect of an EPLAN project in a centralised location. From opening or creating projects, exporting PLC or manufacturing data to importing DWG files the backstage view provides users a one stop shop to easily manage their project data.
Insert Center: The One Stop Shop
No more different menus for different functions that can be used according to different methods: With the insert center, the user now can find all needed makros, symbols and devices in one environment to complete designs in the most efficient way possible. Always accessible in the graphical user interface, the insert center will provide easy accessibility to the many different design tools and objects available in EPLAN.
New 2D Graphic Engine: Performance Boost for Daily Work
In basic engineering, e.g. in the context of building technology, the requirements for powerful 2D graphics that support the handling of large quantities of 2D data are increasing. The EPLAN Platform 2022 includes a new graphic engine based on modern technology.
Benefits for users:
- Future-proof technology for high quality results
- The new 2D graphic engine is open to additional feature improvements
- Optimal performance when importing DXF or DWG files
New Central Parts Management
The Central Parts Management is based on new technology for optimal capabilities and performance. The object oriented data management gives users much flexibility to customise their parts. The new variant management now allows all the parts properties to be stored with the created variant allowing parts to carry different macros per variant. Furthermore, the IT department benefits as well as the installation of 3rd party software is no longer needed to implement the parts manager.
Additional NFPA support for more usability
The EPLAN Platform 2022 offers new templates, symbols and plot frames for a strong support of the North American design requirements. This way, starting new EPLAN designs becomes a lot easier for newbies. A wide range of further options for adapting EPLAN to the procedures and workflows customary in the US markets becomes available with the new platform.
Benefits for users:
- Quicker start with NFPA project through new master data from IEC to NFPA
- Definable reset Area of the connection numbering, while the same connection number is given in different cabinets
- Page-oriented determination of the cable sources
