Do It Faster, with Configuration Aids and Our Online Shop
Data from the digital twin is also accessed during commercial processes and can be connected to ERP systems with EPLAN’s integration solutions. Generated at a single central point, the data are then used on a decentralised basis and can also be added to and edited. This makes media discontinuity a thing of the past. If data need to be modified, this is done just once for the whole system and the entire process adapts accordingly. As such you can use this data in upstream engineering processes as well as downstream manufacturing processes.
As a Rittal customer you reap additional benefits from the digital processes when placing your order. From integration to virtual product configuration to easy ordering in the online shop: It’s never been as easy as it is today to configure the exact Rittal product you need, place the order and have it delivered in a very short time. Our solutions are tightly integrated with digital manufacturing in Rittal’s newest factory – innovative best practices for Industry 4.0!
Ordering
Modern ECAD systems are not isolated solutions. The deep integration into the customer's IT infrastructure makes it possible to transfer automatically generated bills of materials – for quotations and material procurement – into existing ERP systems. Ideally, an engineering solution should therefore not only include standardized interfaces to the market-leading ERP, PDM and PLM systems, but also tools for the individual integration of the software into the customer's IT system landscape.
Manufacturing Documents
The manufacturing documents, like drawings, BOMs, terminal lists etc., as well as all necessary data for the automated production process steps are created automatically with the help of software solutions using standardized interfaces and standardized data.
Logistics
The enclosure and switchgear manufacturer obtains customer data and validates it with regard to the availability of article data, completeness and suitability for all downstream processes, such as those in engineering and work preparation. The data may need to be prepared accordingly.
Necessary enclosure options and the additional process steps associated with these options are also identified.
Special project options also need to be factored in. These can include questions such as: Is a climate control solution required? How should that be designed? What kind of outlay needs to be taken into account when creating circuit plan documentation? What costs does the solution bring and how does that affect the costing and the planning of subsequent process steps for manufacturing?
Kitting
A complete and clearly structured bill of materials and a disposition list coming from the ERP System ensure that required components are listed to the corresponding customer order and next to their manufacturing stages for easy assembly.
