At the SPS IPC Drives, EPLAN and its affiliate Cideon are presenting a new PDM integration. With EPLAN Pro.File Connector, the companies offer an integration solution to Procad’s PDM system. This represents an expansion of EPLAN’s portfolio in the area of PDM integration and underscores the importance of consistent data storage across the entire product lifecycle. The new solution is available immediately. Monheim/Nuremberg, 22 November 2016 – Design data management, bills of materials management, part synchronisation and authentification, including assigning permissions – these are the key features of the new EPLAN integration to the Pro.File PDM system. The EPLAN Pro.File Connector was developed in cooperation with the company Procad and is available immediately. It facilitates consistent data storage for users across the entire product lifecycle. Through the EPLAN integration of Pro.File, product models are made even more complete with ECAD data in Pro.File (can include connection lists, schematics in electrical engineering and fluid power engineering, bills of materials, EPLAN analyses). The PLM process is mapped across systems, which results in seamless operations in the area of parts and bills of materials management as well as sustainable management of product data. Metadata are automatically synchronized. Project data redundancies are avoided through the use of references instead of duplicates. Data soverignty is established within the system.
More transparency, secure processes
Comprehensive design data management safeguards the opening, saving and revision of data and projects. Automated part sychronisation allows parts to be created, imported and updated in EPLAN. For designers, the bill of materials is important, and this is consistently supported with Pro.File. Bills of materials as well as manufacturing documents are automatically generated and saved as a result of design engineering. Of particular interest to users: catalogue parts can also be synchronised bidirectionally. This ensures uniform quality in the parts master data for electrical components. Authentification and permissions assignments are fully supported with EPLAN Pro.File Connector. Standardised, company-specific approval processes guarantee efficient workflows.
Integration is everything
Integrated data in the product development process forms the basis for process security, product quality and interdisciplinary cooperation across the entire product lifecycle. The development of this new integration solution is based on the ERP/PDM integration suite that is available as a standard from solutions provider EPLAN. EPLAN currently offers additional standardised PLM/PDM interfaces for Autodesk Vault, PTC Windchill, SAP and Siemens Teamcenter.
