The high access figures attest to its market acceptance: more than 1,000,000 downloads were recorded in November 2017 alone. Monheim, Germany, 13 December 2017 – During the SPS IPC Drives, which took place in Nuremburg in late November, EPLAN Data Portal received an update. Twelve new manufacturers with more than 6,000 records were integrated and 21 product catalogues with more than 30,000 records from current component manufacturers were brought up to date. In 2017 alone, the portal recorded growth of 29 percent with respect to integrated manufacturers and a 13 percent increase in records. Translated into actual figures, as of December 2017: 217 manufacturers with more than 780,000 records are now integrated into the portal.

Many manufacturers from Asia

The new entries include a variety of companies, from global players to local manufacturers. Baumüller, for instance, has integrated PLC devices and Lenze has added data for radio interference filters and inverters to name two examples. Getriebebau Nord has integrated more than 1,100 records for frequency inverters while FRER contributed more than 3,000 records for transformers to the portal. Along with global players, there was also a strong emphasis on suppliers from the Asia-Pacific region, including companies such as CKD Corporation (flow control valves); Ningbo Highsun (protection systems and switching devices); Mindman (around 3,000 records for fluid power components); Sanyu (transducers); and XingYu (sensors). “EPLAN Data Portal continues to intensively focus on continued internationalisation,” says EPLAN Data Portal Global Coordinator Stephan Domdey. “Our customers work internationally, so that’s where our data is also available: globally.”
